Name: National Night Out
Date: October 5, 2021
Event Description:
What is National Night Out?
National Night Out focuses on community and raising awareness through camaraderie. By improving area relationships, the hope is to make our neighborhoods safer. Shining a spotlight on community police programs, National Night Out increases connections between those who serve and their neighborhoods.
Location:
In 2019 we held the event at the Birch Bay Beach Park, that family friendly event featured fire trucks from North Whatcom Fire & Rescue, BP, Phillips 66, a variety of police vehicles from Whatcom County Sheriff & Blaine Police Department, as well as vehicles from Search & Rescue & US Border Patrol.

In 2020 Due to COVID-19 and the need to socially distance, and not gather in groups we took these vehicles on the road for the first ever Birch Bay Safety Parade. This fun parade drove through many of the neighborhoods in Birch Bay with lights flashing and sirens blaring. It was fun for the community to come out and wave at all their first responders.

We hope to bring some combination of the events we put on in 2019 & 2020 for you to enjoy in 2021. Stay tuned for more information.
